Sylvan Loom is a sculptural brooch hand-fabricated in sterling silver. Its form is inspired by the architecture of branching limbs, which is translated into a refined, enduring framework that holds space for softer, more transient elements.

Within this silver framework there are segments of individually handwoven tapestry, both on the front and at the back of the brooch. They collectively create a series of suspended textile planes. The fibers shift in tonal gradation, moving through moss greens, pale lichen and cool sky blues, before deepening into shadowed indigo and forest green. These subtle transitions are irregular, echoing the way color appears in nature – layered, responsive and alive!

The woven sections are tensioned independently, allowing each to hold its own presence while remaining part of a cohesive whole. This interplay creates a quiet rhythm across the piece – structured yet organic, deliberate yet fluid.

Sylvan Loom reflects a dialogue between permanence and change, between rigidity and fluidity. The silver branch anchors the form. The woven fibers suggest movement, growth and change. Worn on the body or added to a bag as an accessory, it becomes a small landscape, sparking conversations.

Since the brooch pin is made of sterling silver, it is more flexible than normal steel pins. Whilst it is sharp and can easily pierce the fabric, please take extra care when pinning the brooch. Please do not try to pin the brooch on very thick fabrics.
