Tête-à-Tête is a conversation between two earrings that were never meant to be identical.

On one side, a hand-shaped porcelain flower glows in shifting gold and purple and has the tiniest freshwater pearl at its heart. On the other side, an organic twin-shaped purple Chalcedony specimen sits in its hand-fabricated sterling silver setting. Both are held in placed with sterling silver ear nuts.

Look again, and they exchange places.

Suspended from the fine box sterling silver chains, a little round purple Chalcedony falls beneath the flower stud, while a second smaller porcelain flower falls beneath the Chalcedony stud. One answers the other – different in form, but connected by color and material.

The drops are completely detachable, so Tête-à-Tête can change with you. Wear just the mismatched studs (Model 2) for a quieter conversation, or add the long drops for a louder one. You can also vary the way you attach the drops. They can go in front of your ear lobes (Model 1), or at the back (Model 3).

The slender chains allow the little flower and crystal to turn and move freely rather than always sitting perfectly upright.

The flowers were individually formed by another artist using French porcelain. I painted them by hand in layers of iridescent rich gold and dusted them with mica powder in different purple hues. The larger flower has a golden accent with softer shifting purple hues, but the smaller flower has a more intense purple accent. They are glazed for protection and finished with tiny freshwater pearls.

The natural purple Chalcedony specimens are deliberately different from one another, their irregular shapes becoming part of the design.

Playful, changeable and decidedly asymmetrical, Tête-à-Tête is a little conversation you can wear – and rearrange whenever you feel like changing the subject.
