This fashionable ring features a blister pearl, which is different from the normal batches. Most blister pearls are sold with a big part of the shell, shaped into round or oval forms, and the blister pearls are seen emerging from the surface of the shell. This one had most of its shell part removed. When I bought it, it was shaped more like a bell and it seemed to be more suitable for pendants. I wanted it to be used in an Ooh-La-La ring. So I redefined its tail and it really looks more like a mabe pearl with a tail.

This pearl was cultured in the South China Sea and has an overall gold pinky sheen but certain parts of it, especially its tail, has a beautiful bluish purple color. It has good pearlescence.

The mabe pearl sits in a sterling silver frame. The edge of the frame that holds the pearl has been intentionally made to be uneven to match its rustic look. The paisley pattern next to the frame mimics the splashes of sea water. The whole frame sits on a 4mm wide flat band that has been textured.
