This gorgeous red ring features a rose cut pink Sapphire in deep plum colour. The pink sapphire and the ruby is one and the same type of stone, which is red corundum. They are market names given to the stone, generally based on the intensity of the red colouration of the stone. Since the word “ruby” connotes a high value, the names “pink sapphire” and “ruby” cannot be used interchangeably. Sapphires are pretty hard stones, having a hardness of 9 Mohs. They are the third hardest mineral, after diamonds (10 Mohs) and moissanite (9.5 Mohs).

This particular pink Sapphire has such a rich plum colour that is just so tasteful. Its rose cut facets give it a wondeful sparkle whenever light hits it. It is set in sterling silver. The ring band is made of rectangle wire and is nicely textured.
