This pendant is inspired by the lichen. A lichen is not a plant but a composite organism that arises from algae or cyanobacteria living among filaments of multiple fungi species in a beneficial relationship. It is often regarded as boring to the naked eye and ignored. However, when closely observed, the lichen becomes an interesting study. Lichens exist in many colors, sizes and forms. Some look crusty (crustose). Some look leafy (foliose) and some look bushy (fruticose). The type of lichen which I like to replicate is the leafy lichen.

When the form and texture of a lichen is replicated on metal, it becomes magical. This large but fairly light pendant is made from a scratch. 3 small Watermelon Tourmaline pieces are added to the design for a little bit of bling and color.
